Learn about some of the exciting projects we have carried out partnering with companies and allied organizations:

U.S. Embassy
in San José
The U.S. Embassy has awarded grants since 2021, which have included a program for women entrepreneurs who received capacity building and capital seed money to start micro enterprises. They have also provided funds for extracurricular environmental clubs in school along the route. This program has strengthened STEAM skills as well as shaped leaders of the future to honor and protect the environment in their respective communities along the route.

Developing World Connections (DWC)
DWC has been an international partner working with Mar a Mar since 2019. Together we have successfully addressed the basic needs of the most vulnerable communities along the route, in particular, the need for potable water. Together we have improved the infrastructure of two medical clinics. Together we have built two campgrounds and bathrooms available to hikers and operated locally in indigenous villages.

The Costa Rican
Tourism Board (ICT)
ICT has been a partner since the opening of the route in 2018, promoting the Camino de Costa Rica in Europe and North America. This has led to strategic publications in renowned European adventure travel and in National Geographic, and most notably, in The New York Times. In addition, they have contributed to signage along the route.
